Profile of Candidate
The ideal candidate has experience working for a foreign educational institution, preferably supporting student recruitment efforts related to study abroad. The role’s primary focus will be relationship management and recruitment activities in Mainland China. Other responsibilities include follow up and conversion of offer-holders and supporting partnerships and business development. The position involves frequent interaction with the university, as well as local stakeholders, and significant travel is required (40%).
Suitable Background
- 3-5 years of experience in roles related to international tertiary education and recruitment
- Experience representing a known New Zealand or Australian institution will be an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin. Proficient in English business writing. Able to discuss strategy and analysis with English speakers.
- Cantonese language proficiency is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Chinese social media platforms
- Study or other experience living abroad is preferred with a preference for New Zealand.
- Voluntary or other life experience that demonstrates creativity, hardwork, persistence or drive to succeed.
Employment detail
Under this arrangement, the Market Manager -China will be an employee of EduGlobal China and will work exclusively for the University of Otago.
This position will work under the direction of the Senior Regional Manager – Greater China (based in China) and have regular contact with the International Marketing and Recruitment Team in New Zealand.
